Galleria degli Uffizi: More than a Museum

The Galleria degli Uffizi, which is called The Uffizi Gallery in English, is one of the most wonderful attractions in Florence, Italy.  This U-shaped palace, which is in front of the Arno and was designed by Giorgio Vasari, is very famous since it holds, at the top of it, one of the most well-known art museums in the world.  This museum was founded in 1581 and offers you an incredibly wide-ranging diversity of the Renaissance art comprised between the 14th and the 18th centuries.  In general, this gallery is made up of 40 rooms.  The ceilings featured with stunning frescoes and the corridors are lined with 16th century and Roman sculptures that you can, definitely, admire.

If you go to The Uffizi Gallery, you are allowed to expect to see there impressive and famed works by Raphael, Leonardo, and Caravaggio, among many others.  Some of the most outstanding works include “Primavera” and “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli, “Battle of San Romano” by Uccello, “Madonna and Child with Two Angels” by Filippo Lippi and “Doni Tondo”, which is the unique panel painting that Michelangelo can be certainly attributed.

When planning your trip, it is recommended that you go around lunchtime or in the afternoon since these are the times when the probabilities of avoiding great crowds increase.  Advance tickets can be reserved by phone.   In addition, remember that you are able to make a reservation for a tour in order for you to be sure about your space.  After you book via phone, you must present yourself in “reservations” with your confirmation number.  The schedule you are able to go to The Uffizi Gallery is from Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 6:50 pm.  On Sundays, it is available from 8:30 am to 1:50 pm.  Hence, you know everything necessary in order to have the most unforgettable trip of your life.  Now, go there!
