Piazza San Marco: A Marvel in Venice
The Piazza San Marco or St. Mark’s Square as it is often called in English is, in Venice, the town square. It is very famous due to the fact that it is the only construction having the necessary space in order to be called as such. The rest of the similar ones are called campi. This Piazza San Marco is also known as the “drawing-room of Europe”. What calls every single tourist going there is the fact that it is the only urban place in Europe where what you hear is only people speaking. One of the features that tourists love the most of this place is that it is amazing that it is such an extremely different attraction from the rest of the places to which they have been. This is so since it has not been corrupted by automobiles due to the fact that it is located in Venice, where the main means of transportation is boat.
To its right, there is the Piazzetta and the Doge’s Palace. This piazetta dei Leoncini is specifically situated between the Biblioteca Marciana and the Doge’s Palace. It is an out-of-this-world place to stay since it is open to the lagoon. When you get there, you can see several cafes almost everywhere in almost all the Procuraties’ ground floor. In addition, there are two museums in some of the Squares’s buildings. In general, the Piazetta is just 175 meters long in spite of the fact that, when you take a look to the basilica, it seems to be much larger. A very curious fact about this world wide well-known attraction is that despite it is considered to be a rectangle, it is really a trapezium. You see, there are so many things like these that are waiting for you to discover. Do not procrastinate the opportunity of getting to know the real and unique Piazza San Marco.
