Villaricca




Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula.
 
Villaricca is a comune in the province of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about 10 kilometers northwest of Naples. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 28,159 and an area of 6.8 square kilometers. Villaricca borders have municipalities such as Calvizzano, Giugliano in Campania, Marano di Napoli, Mugnano di Napoli, Qualiano, and Quarto. Villaricca belongs to the province of Napoli and is 12 kilometers far from Napoli, which is the chief town of the homonymous province. Villaricca has a population of 26.175 inhabitants  and a surface of 6.9 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 3.793,48 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 105 metres above the sea level.
 
The municipality of Villaricca had a popolation of 22.114 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 26.175 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 to 2001 a percentual variation of 18.36 percent inhabitants.  The inhabitants are distributed in 7.510 families with an average of 3.49 people per family. The territory of the municipality lies between 75 and 130 metres above sea level. The altimetric spawn is thus of 55 metres. Villaricca, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
