Valenza




Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula.
 
Valenza is a commune also known as municipality in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 80 kilometers east of Turin and about 11 kilometers north of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 20,489 and an area of 50.0 square kilometers. The municipality of Valenza contains the frazioni, which is a subdivision, mainly villages and hamlets, Villabella and Montevalenza.
 
Valenza borders municipalities such as Alessandria, Bassignana, Bozzole, Frascarolo, Giarole, Mirabello Monferrato, Pecetto di Valenza, Pomaro Monferrato, San Salvatore Monferrato, Suardi, and Torre Beretti e Castellaro.
 
It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
