Tremestieri Etneo




Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula.
 
Tremestieri Etneo is a commune in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, located about 160 kilometers far away from the southeast part of Palermo and about 8 kilometers far away from the north part of Catania. As of 31st of December 2004, it had a population of 21,144 people and an area of 6.5 square kilometers. Its density is 3,273 per square kilometer. Tremestieri Etneo borders the municipalities of Catania, Gravina di Catania, Mascalucia, Pedara, San Giovanni la Punta, San Gregorio di Catania and Sant'Agata li Battiati.
 
Tremestieri Etneo is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
