Rovereto
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula. Inhabitants of Italy are referred to as Italians. Their official language is Standard Italian, descendant of Tuscan dialect and a direct descendant of Latin. The word Italy is derived from the Homeric Aeolic word which means bull. Italy is subject to highly diverse weather conditions in autumn, winter, and spring. The country has the fifth-highest population density in Europe at 193 persons per square kilometer. Today, despite regional variations in the form of accents and vowel emphasis, Italian is fully comprehensible to most throughout the country. Rovereto is a municipality in the autonomous province of Trento in Italy. In the past it was an important centre for the silk manufacture. Rovereto is the birthplace of Sferoflex eyeglasses, now taken over by Luxottica Group. Rovereto has a real sense of peace. This is reinforced every evening with its hundred tollings on the Miravalle Hill by Maria Dolens, a huge bell fused with the bronze from the cannons. In Rovereto the scene is made up of memorable buildings that tell of antique experiences and fine customs such as Palazzo Piomarta, Palazzo Fedrigotti and naturally Palazzo Rosmini, but also the memory of arts and crafts such as Contrada della Terra, Piazza del Grano, the antique spinning mill of through Tartarotti. Rovereto is an attractive city with natural beauty and historical places, while traveling in Italy.
