Qualiano
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula. Qualiano is a commune in the Province of Naples in the Italian region of Campania located about 13 kilometers far away from the northwest part of Naples. As of 31st of December 2004, it had a population of 25,452 people. The City rises 101 meters above the sea level. Qualiano borders the municipalities of Calvizzano, Giugliano in Campania and also Villaricca. The municipality of Qualiano had a popolation of 20,054 inhabitants according to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 24,542 inhabitants, thus showing during the years from 1991 to 2001 a percentual variation of 22.38 percent inhabitants. The inhabitants are distributed in 7,061 families with an average of 3.48 people per family. The territory of the municipality lies between 48 and 113 meters above sea level. The altimetric spawn is thus of 65 meters. Qualiano is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
