Pioltello
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula. Inhabitants of Italy are referred to as Italians. Their official language is Standard Italian, descendant of Tuscan dialect and a direct descendant of Latin. The word Italy is derived from the Homeric Aeolic word which means bull. Italy is subject to highly diverse weather conditions in autumn, winter, and spring. The country has the fifth-highest population density in Europe at 193 persons per square kilometer. Today, despite regional variations in the form of accents and vowel emphasis, Italian is fully comprehensible to most throughout the country. Pioltello is a municipality in the Province of Milan in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is located 14 kilometers on the northeast of Milan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 32,337 inhabitants in the area of 13.1 squared kilometers with a density of 2,467 people per square kilometer. The municipality of Pioltello contains the frazioni subdivisions, largely villages and hamlets. It borders with the municipalities of Limito, Seggiano, Rugacesio, Cernusco sul Naviglio, Vimodrone, Segrate and Rodano. Its elevation is 122 meters from the mean sea level. Pioltello enjoys a very good reputation amongst worldwide travelers and hence is one of the most visited places in Italy. Pioltello can also be described as the best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
