Montesilvano
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula. Montesilvano is a commune and town in the province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Montesilvano belongs to the province of Pescara and is 8 kilometers far away from Pescara that is the chief town of the homonymous province. Montesilvano has a population of 40, 700 inhabitants and a surface of 23.4 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 1.739,32 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 5 meters above the sea level. The municipality of Montesilvano had a population of 35,153 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 40,700 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 to 2001 a perceptual variation of 15.78 percent inhabitants. The inhabitants are distributed in 14,150 families with an average of 2.88 people per family. The territory of the municipality lies between 0 and 210 meters above sea level. The altimetric spawn is thus of 210 meters. Montesilvano is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
