Limbiate




Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula.
 
Limbiate is a commune in the province of Milan in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 15 kilometers north of Milan. As of 31st of December 2004, it had a population of 32,168 and an area of 12.4 square kilometers. The municipality of Limbiate contains the subdivisions Pinzano, Villaggio dei Giovi, Mombello, and Villaggio del sole. Limbiate borders the municipalities of Bovisio-Masciago, Solaro, Cesate, Varedo, Paderno Dugnano and Senago.
 
Limbiate is 17 kilometers far from Milano, which is the chief town of the homonymous province to which the municipality belongs. Limbiate has a population of 30804 inhabitants and a surface of 12.4 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 248419 inhabitants per square kilometer. The City rises 187 meters above the sea level. The municipality of Limbiate had a population of 31,873 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 30,804 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 to 2001 a perceptual variation of 3.35 percent inhabitants.
 
Limbiate is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
