Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula.
 
Guidonia Montecelio is a town in the province of Rome, Lazio, Italy. Guidonia Montecelio belongs to the province of Roma and is 24 kilometers far from Roma, that is the Chief Town of the homonymous province. Guidonia Montecelio has a population of 67.516 inhabitants and a surface of 79,1 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 853,55 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 105 metres above the sea level.
 
The municipality of Guidonia Montecelio had a popolation of 55.544 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 67.516 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991  2001 a percentual variation of 21,55 percent inhabitants. The inhabitants are distributed in 24.075 families with an average of 280 people per family. The territory of the municipality lies between 28 and 389 metres above sea level.  The altimetric spawn is thus of 361 metres.

Guidonia is one of the most visited places. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. It enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
