Gragnano
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula. Gragnano is a municipality in the Province of Naples in the Italian region Campania. It is located about 30 kilometers southeast of Naples. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of twenty nine thousand seven hundred and twenty three and an area of 14.6 square kilometers. The municipality of Gragnano contains the frazioni, with subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets, Aurano and Caprile. Gragnano borders the municipalities including Agerola, Casola di Napoli, Castellammare di Stabia, Lettere, Pimonte, Ravello, Sant'Antonio Abate, Santa Maria la Carita and Scala. A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Gragnano is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
