Giulianova

Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula.

Giulianova is a coastal town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo, Italy. It is located at around 42 degrees 45 minutes towards the north and 13 degrees 56 minutes towards the east. Giulianova is next to the site of the ancient city called Castrum Novum, which belonged to the Praetutii tribe before the Roman conquest. In the middle ages, the population of Castrum Novum, then called Castrum divi Flaviani, were transported to a new city situated at Giulianova.

Giulianova is a thriving tourist, commercial and fishing town on the Adriatic near the mouth of the Tordino river, an ideal holiday place, thanks to the pleasant environment and one of the most beautiful beaches of the Adriatic coast. The current municipality of Giulianova, which took this name only in the early 1900's, includes Giulianova Alta, the old city center of the 19th century, on the top of the hill and Giulianova Lido, along the sea coast, which rose in the early 20th century near the railway station and the fishing port.

Giulianova is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
