Collegno
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula.
Collegno is a comune also known as municipality, in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont. It is located about 9 kilometers west of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 49,634 and an area of 18.1 square kilometers.
Collegno borders the following municipalities Druento, Venaria Reale, Turin, Pianezza, Rivoli and Grugliasco. The sister’s cities of Collegno are Antony in France, Sarospatak in Hungary, Valzhsky in Russia, Neubrandenburg in Germany, Cerdanyola del Valles in Spain, San Gregorio Magno in Italia, Ousseltia in Tunisia, Matanzas in Cuba, Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Havirov in Czech Republic, Rocchetta Sant'Antonio and Gaiba in Italy. Collegno is one of Italy’s most popular destinations and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments that the city has embraced.
