Ceccano
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula. Inhabitants of Italy are referred to as Italians. Their official language is Standard Italian, descendant of Tuscan dialect and a direct descendant of Latin. The word Italy is derived from the Homeric Aeolic word which means bull. Today, despite regional variations in the form of accents and vowel emphasis, Italian is fully comprehensible to most throughout the country.
Ceccano belongs to the province of Frosinone and is 8 kilometers far from Frosinone, which is the chief town of the homonymous province. Ceccano has a population of 22.334 inhabitants and a surface of 60,5 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 369,16 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 200 metres above the sea level. Ceccano population is the municipality of Ceccano and had a population of 22.121 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population were 22.334 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of 0,96 percent inhabitants.
The inhabitants are distributed in 7.756 families with an average of 2,88 people per family. The territory of the municipality lies between 108 and 789 metres above sea level. The altimetric spawn is thus of 681 metres. Presently, Ceccano experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Italy. Ceccano, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
