Bollate
Italy, officially the Italian Republic or Repubblica Italiana, is a Southern European country comprising of the Po River valley, the Italian Peninsula and the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia. It is shaped like a boot and for this reason Italians commonly call it lo Stivale, the boot or, due to its prevalent peninsular geographical nature, la Penisola, the Peninsula. Bollate is a comune also known as municipality in the Province of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy. It located about 10 kilometers northwest of Milan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 37,556 and an area of 15.9 square kilometers. The municipality of Bollate contains the frazioni, subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets Cascina Del Sole, Cassina Nuova, Castellazzo and Ospiate. Bollate borders the following municipalities Paderno Dugnano, Senago, Garbagnate Milanese, Arese, Cormano, Novate Milanese and Baranzate. Bollate is also said to be as the town of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. This is evident from the archaeological sites found throughout the town. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and pursue enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace.
